Autumn Wreath - Felt Project for Cricut!

Introduction

With temperatures still soaring, it might seem premature to be thinking about fall crafting. However, for those of us who love DIY projects, it's never too early to dive into the next season's creations. So, I decided to beat the heat by getting a jump on my fall crafting with a Felt Autumn Wreath made using my trusty Cricut machine. Let's take a practical look at how I pulled off this project.

Picking the Right Stuff

For this project, I went with 2mm stiff felt as my material of choice. It's sturdy and holds its shape well, making it ideal for intricate designs. The Cricut, armed with a rotary blade, sliced through the felt like a breeze, delivering neat and professional-looking cuts.

Double the Style: Embracing Autumn and Gothic (Halloween?) Vibes

This project's flexibility really stood out to me. I ended up creating two versions of the wreath: one in the warm, earthy colours of fall and the other with a darker, gothic twist, featuring blacks and purples. It's pretty cool how adaptable this project is to different styles. It could definitely fit the Halloween crafts section.

Fun Fact!

In order to help me choose the best wreath version to cover the shop thumbnails, I've conducted a little experiment on Instagram. I ran a survey to see which colour scheme people preferred – the classic fall palette or the unconventional black and purple combo. To my surprise, it ended up being a tie!

Discovering a Passion for Felt

My experience with felt during this project was a game-changer. It's easy to work with, versatile, and perfect for creating intricate designs. This wreath project solidified my newfound affection for felt, and I'm eager to explore more crafting possibilities with it.

For those who want to give the Felt Autumn Wreath a shot, I've made the SVG files available in my shop. Plus, there's an assembly video on YouTube that breaks down the process step by step. The goal is to make this enjoyable project accessible to anyone looking to spruce up their space for fall.

Despite the ongoing heat 🥵, I've already embraced the fall crafting path and Felt has definitely earned a spot in my heart as a favourite crafting material. I'm excited to see what other inventive projects I can come up with. So, whether you're a fall fanatic or simply someone looking to add a touch of autumn to your home, consider giving the Felt Autumn Wreath project a try – you might just find yourself falling for felt, too.

XOXO - Giuly
